Role Overview

The Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring AI71 operates in full alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks across the organization, with particular focus on data protection, AI governance, regulatory reporting, and internal controls. You will work closely with Legal, HR, Security, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to embed compliance into day-to-day operations while supporting AI71’s rapid growth and innovation agenda.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Policy Compliance
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of AI71’s compliance framework in line with UAE laws, international standards, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor regulatory developments related to data protection, AI governance, cybersecurity, employment, and corporate compliance; assess impact and recommend actions.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, reporting obligations, and audits as required.
  • Draft, review, and maintain internal policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines (e.g. Code of Conduct, Data Protection, AI Ethics, Conflicts of Interest).
  • Support the rollout of internal controls and governance processes across business functions.
  • Maintain compliance registers, risk logs, and documentation repositories.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and support mitigation planning.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on compliance-related matters, providing practical and business-aligned guidance.
  • Support investigations, incident management, and remediation activities where required.
  • Help design and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Promote a strong culture of ethics, accountability, and regulatory awareness across the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with HR on employment compliance, onboarding, and policy adherence.
  • Collaborate with Security and Technology teams on data protection, information security, and responsible AI practices.
  • Support vendor, third-party, and partner compliance assessments.

Experience and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Compliance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in compliance, risk, legal operations, or regulatory roles (technology, government, financial services, or consulting environments preferred).
  • Strong understanding of UAE regulatory frameworks; exposure to international regulations (e.g. data protection, AI governance, ethics) is an advantage.
  • Experience drafting policies, managing compliance documentation, and supporting audits or regulatory reviews.

  • Ability to translate complex regulations into clear, practical guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High integrity, discretion, and professional judgment.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications (e.g. CCEP, ICA, ISO, data protection or risk certifications).
  • Experience in AI, emerging technology, cybersecurity, or data-driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with compliance management systems, GRC tools, or audit platforms.
