Context
Your client, a major government organization based in Abu Dhabi, is leading a large-scale strategic data program aimed at unifying data across multiple entities. The objective is to establish standardized enterprise data models, strengthen data governance, and enable a centralized data marketplace to improve data sharing, transparency, and decision-making program relies heavily on Microsoft Azure and Databricks technologies and requires strong coordination with multiple stakeholders across public-sector entities.
Mission
As a Data Solution Architect, you will play a key role in designing and guiding the target data architecture of the program.
Your Responsibilities- Design the end-to-end data architecture on Microsoft Azure and Databricks
- Define and implement standardized data models across multiple entities and domains
- Support the setup of data governance frameworks (ownership, quality, lineage, security, compliance)
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a Data Marketplace enabling data discovery and reuse
- Work closely with data engineers, platform teams, and business stakeholders to align architecture with functional needs
- Ensure scalability, security, and compliance with government data regulations
- Provide architectural guidance, best practices, and technical documentation
- Support key program milestones and architectural decision-making
- Proven experience as a Data Architect / Data Solution Architect on large-scale data programs
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure (data services, security, integration)
- Advanced experience with Databricks (Lakehouse architecture, data processing, optimization)
- Solid knowledge of enterprise data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical models)
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
- Experience working on multi-entity or government-scale data initiatives is a strong plus
- Ability to operate in complex stakeholder environments
- Strong communication and documentation skills in English
- On-site presence in Abu Dhabi is mandatory
