The Policy Analysis Specialist reports to the Senior Manager – Policy Analysis. As a key member of our Strategic Analysis department, you will play a crucial role in conducting policy analysis. Your responsibilities will include benchmarking and analyzing best practices, policies, and regulations, across various fields such as economic development, social assistance, and education. To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with a solid background in economic development, along with experience in consultancy and renowned international organizations.
An international background, particularly experience studying or working abroad in countries like the US, UK, or Europe, is highly valued. Knowledge of the UAE or GCC region is also considered an advantage.
- Lead the economic development workstream as part of the Policy Analysis Team, directly under the Policy Analysis Senior Manager and the Senior Director - Economic and Policy Intelligence.
- Conduct policy analysis and provide insights and policy advice to senior stakeholders, focusing on geopolitics and economic development topics (e.g., economics, FDI, trade, investment, business regulations, tariffs).
- Conduct research and analysis using a variety of data sources to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Research and analyze the best practice policies, regulations, and practices worldwide, and translate the insights into actionable initiatives for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
- Benchmark strategies, regulations, policies, economic, human capital, education, and labor indicators to inform policy advice.
- Monitor and evaluate policy implementation and outcomes, revising recommendations as needed.
- Prepare reports (mostly PowerPoint) and documents to effectively communicate policy analyses and recommendations.
- Critically review policy documents on human capital development, including providing insights and evidence-based comments.
- Stay abreast of policy trends and best practices in human capital development.
- Minimum qualification:
Postgraduate degree from reputable international university with a focus on Economics, Public Policy, International Development, Management, or Business Administration. - Minimum of 4-10 years of work experience in top-tier consulting firms and/or international organizations, with a focus on the public sector and government services.
- Extensive experience working on public policy projects, with a focus on trends such as digital government, artificial intelligence, and energy and climate transition.
