To provide timely and accurate group financial information and reports as applicable, ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory requirements and the ongoing development and implementation of internal controls and procedures across the business.
Key Activities and Accountabilities- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closures, ensuring preparation of management reports and financial statements for the legal entities are undertaken in a timely manner to meet reporting deadlines.
- Partner with operations on day‑to‑day matters to optimise operational spending and tracking, and work with the Shared Service Organisation for accounting matters support and guidance as applicable.
- Provide support to management in building forecasts, budgets and departmental P&Ls, along with variance reporting and undertaking project‑costs analysis with highlighted deficiencies.
- Ensure strong balance‑sheet control through monthly analysis, review and control of key balance‑sheet areas.
- liaise with the internal and external audit process by resolving queries and providing requested information.
- Assist in preparation and tracking of In‑Country Value Score and take initiatives to improve the score by implementing best practices in coordination with supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, financial audits, In‑Country Value audits, VAT submissions and corporate tax matters.
- Ensure that the system of financial controls is appropriate, effective and robust at all times.
- Undertake ad‑hoc financial and commercial projects as required by management.
- Drive improvement to existing financial and operational reporting systems, processes and controls.
- Support the line manager in managing the Finance department team, which may include overseeing AR, AP, payroll and bank processing to ensure compliance with Group policies and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external departments as, and when, required to ensure all aspects of finance processes and reporting are accurate, comply with company policies and procedures and are in line with legislative requirements.
- Liaise with team members, internal and external departments as, and when, required to resolve questions and queries in a timely manner; liaise with the manager on any issues or concerns with documentation to be processed.
- Assist with review and processing of sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner, approval as per company policies and procedures.
- Actively adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable quality policies, procedures, processes and systems; take an active part in quality‑improvement processes; act on reported deficiencies and approve deviations from standard procedures as appropriate.
- Ensure employees adhere to and comply with all applicable Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and processes; provide leadership in HSE; encourage employees to take responsibility and be accountable for their own and others’ safety and provide an environment where they feel authorised to stop any unsafe job; ensure that all incidents and non‑conformances are reported in line with the appropriate procedures and deadlines;
ensure that all incidents are investigated and corrective actions raised as required; when appropriate, participate in incident investigations.
- Degree in a recognised accounting qualification with depth knowledge of international accounting standards.
- 5+ years practical experience within a finance environment.
- Proficient in using SAP, TM1, Hyperion.
