About the RoleThe Senior Officer – Finance plays a critical role in supporting revenue recognition processes related to aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. This position ensures accurate financial reporting of engine maintenance contracts, time and material billing, and component repairs while adhering to aviation industry standards and accounting policies. The role collaborates closely with the invoice estimation team to validate and document monthly estimate reviews, monitor actual invoices against estimates, track contractual KPIs, and support the tendering team in reviewing key financial assumptions.
YourResponsibilities
- Monthly Reporting (40%): Engage with operations, engineering, and commercial teams to track engine progress, ensure validated estimates are submitted timely, monitor operational bottlenecks, communicate induction credits, review estimate documentation, and report on invoiced engine costs.
- Analysis (30%): Prepare engine case studies comparing invoiced performance to budgets and tenders, support root cause analysis of recurring issues, track contractual KPIs, validate repair rates, and assess feasibility for in-house capability expansion.
- Tendering Support (15%): Collaborate with business teams to reflect operational and financial changes, and monitor updates in financial regulations and accounting standards for compliance.
- Risk Management (15%): Maintain BPU and RCMS documentation to ensure compliance with internal control requirements, monitor management testing, and support self-assessment activities.
We are seeking a qualified professional with a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. A professional certification such as CA, ACCA, or CPA is preferred, along with additional certifications in financial reporting, internal controls, or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IFRS training).
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in commercial or financial estimation of engines and projects, preferably within a fast-paced multinational or regulated industry environment.
Key competencies include strong accounting and financial management skills aligned with IFRS and GAAP standards, proficiency in ERP systems, financial reporting and compliance expertise, reconciliation and cash tracking abilities, credit risk and asset monitoring, effective business partnership and cross-functional coordination, internal control and risk awareness, regulatory compliance knowledge, process improvement orientation, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
