Financial Controller

Al Jazira Sports & Cultural Club is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions within the Finance Department.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring strong financial governance, regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, and effective internal controls across the organization.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial schedules
• Ensure consistency of accounting practices across divisions
• Maintain strong internal financial controls

• Lead annual budget preparation and rolling forecasts
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and analyze variances
• Provide financial insights on revenue performance, cost trends, and financial risks
• Support management with financial modeling and scenario analysis

• Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT, and statutory requirements
• Coordinate audit processes and address audit observations

• Oversee ERP and finance systems
• Drive process automation and reporting improvements
• Support financial system enhancements and integrations

• Lead and develop the finance team
• Promote accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

• Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, or ACCA)
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting
• Experience in government or large organizations preferred
• Strong IFRS knowledge; UAE VAT experience preferred
• ERP system experience

• Strong financial reporting and analytical capability
• Advanced budgeting and forecasting skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic environment
