Accountant, Tax Accountant, Tax Manager

This role is responsible for managing tax compliance by ensuring accurate preparation and timely filing of tax returns, assists with audits and assessments, and contributes to developing and maintaining effective tax controls in line with UAE tax laws and international best practices.

The post holder will:

• Prepare and file Corporate Tax and VAT returns in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly VAT related activities, ensuring adherence to timeliness and accuracy requirements.
• Assist in preparing tax and revenue reconciliations and resolving discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
• Review transactions for tax implications and provide guidance to finance and business teams.
• Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate tax accounting in financial statements.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and maintain related documentation.
• Preparation and submission of VAT refund requests to Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
• Handle FTA queries and submit additional information requests within the stipulated FTA timelines.
• Monitor updates to tax laws and regulations and assess impact on the organization.
• Support internal and external tax audits, including gathering documentation and preparing responses.
• Maintain tax records and ensure audit readiness.
• Support tax training and awareness for finance and non-finance staff.
• Contribute to tax-related projects and systems automation initiatives.

Education and Certification

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline (mandatory).

UAE VAT or Corporate Tax certification is an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

Good understanding of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT laws and compliance requirements.

Familiarity with tax accounting standards (e.g., IFRS for income taxes).

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to interpret tax laws and apply them to real-world business scenarios.

Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Accountant - Taxation benefit from having experience/competency in:

Preparing and submitting VAT and Corporate Tax returns.

Handling tax assessments, queries, and FTA audits.

Tax accounting and deferred tax computations.

Implementation of tax technology tools for reporting and compliance.

Tax implications of healthcare contracts and cross-border transactions.

Experience

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in taxation, including UAE VAT and Corporate Tax, preferably in a healthcare, multinational, or Big 4 environment.

Experience in a shared services or group finance structure is preferred.
