We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team and support our continued growth in the dynamic property market.

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in the financial health of the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing General Ledger functions, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and UAE financial regulations. This role requires a professional with 6–8 years of experience who can handle complex accounting tasks, mentor junior staff, and provide strategic insights to management. Experience in the Real Estate sector is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & General Ledger
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and properly coded.
  • Conduct rigorous balance sheet reconciliations and analyze variances.
Real Estate Accounting Operations
  • Oversee the processing of real estate transactions, including commission calculations for agents and external brokers.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely collection of agency fees and payments to vendors/landlords.
  • Handle escrow account reconciliations and ensure compliance with RERA/regulatory guidelines regarding client funds.
  • Monitor property management accounts, including rental income, security deposits, and maintenance expenses.
Compliance, Audit & Tax
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT laws, including the preparation and filing of VAT returns.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process, preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and effective to safeguard company assets.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow and provide liquidity reports to senior management.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for efficiency improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Professional Certification is required (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA).
Experience
  • 6 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Prior experience in the Real Estate, Property Management, or Construction industry is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing full-cycle accounting.
Skills & Competencies
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero, Yardi, Salesforce, or Zoho Books).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Analytical

    Skills:

    Ability to interpret complex financial data and explain findings to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills: High level of integrity, strong leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
