Chief Compliance Officer

An excellent opportunity is available with a banking institution within ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market) for a Chief Compliance Officer who will hold responsibility for ensuring the bank complies with applicable laws, regulations, rules and market standards.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for leading and managing the compliance function and acting as the focal point for all compliance related initiatives.

• Have responsibility for leading a small compliance team to include MLRO, Deputy MLRO and KYC/AML Analyst
• Be responsible for ensuring that all stakeholders and business activities are in compliance as per relevant regulations, company policies and procedures are followed and implemented, and the behaviour in the organization meets the company code of conduct
• Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders across divisions to promote a culture of compliance across the Bank
• Develops compliance strategy guides the development of strategy for the reporting units, in line with the stated priorities
• Represents Compliance on Governance forums, reports and escalates issues to the CEO and to the Board on a regular basis

The Chief Compliance Officer will possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related discipline. You will be an authorised person under (ADGM, DIFC, Central Bank, SCA) and have an extensive background of communicating and building a relationship with such regulatory bodies. You will have experience of operating at a senior level within compliance in banking organisations across UAE, ideally with some exposure to offshore and international banking.
