Group Finance Manager
Position Overview
As the Group Finance Manager you’d be responsible for accounting, financial reporting and compliance activities within the Applied
AI Group.
The role involves close collaboration with many of the key leaders within the business, as well as the rest of the wider Finance organization.
As our General Ledger & Financial Reporting Specialist, you will be the engine room of our financial integrity. You’ll own the month‑end process, dive deep into the data to tell the story behind the numbers, and act as a strategic partner to our leadership and FP&A teams.
We are looking for a high‑energy finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and wants to help build a world‑class finance function from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities- Full‑Cycle Accounting: Execute end‑to‑end accounting transactions, including complex revenue recognition (accrued/deferred), payroll, intercompany settlements, and fixed/intangible asset management.
- The Close & Reporting: Lead the month‑end close process to deliver high‑quality P&L fluctuation analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and comprehensive revenue reports.
- Strategic Insights: Provide management with meaningful interpretation of financial reports, identifying trends and “the why” behind the variance.
- Tax & Compliance: Ensure we stay ahead of the curve by assisting with UAE tax submissions and other local government regulatory obligations.
- Audit Ownership: Take a lead role in our June financial year‑end audits, ensuring a seamless and clean process for our group of companies.
- Process Innovation: If a process is slow or manual, you have the mandate to fix it. You will identify and implement workflows that simplify and scale our operations.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders on special projects and financial modeling. You’ll even have the unique opportunity to collaborate on business pitching exercises and growth strategies.
- Degree in accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications: ACCA or CPA.
- At least 5 years of combined audit/financial accounting/tax experience/commercial GL & Reporting functions.
- Proficiency in Excel skills. Experience in using any ERP software is an advantage.
- Ability to meet deadlines with a logical, methodical approach to prioritising tasks and responsibilities.
- Possesses an analytical mindset, willing to identify issues within numbers and propose solutions.
- This role involves some fronting with business teams. Some experience and being comfortable collaborating with non‑finance teams would be helpful in this role.
- Technical Excellence: You have a rock‑solid understanding of IFRS/Accounting Standards and a love for clean, accurate ledgers.
