Chief Field Engineer

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Field Engineer for our client ADNOC in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business. This position will be based in Habshan Abu Dhabi. Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be client office based with a possibility of onshore site based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced PMC Commissioning Manager with a proven track record in overseeing the commissioning process ensuring they are fully functional and meet project requirements before operational start‑up for a high‑profile client.

• Act as team lead in the constructability team, overseeing conversion of engineering designs into construction workpacks and directing work of others. Accountable for the delivery of construction deliverables to the required technical standards to support and facilitate site construction activities.
• Lead the formulation and implementation of the overall Construction / Implementation Plan, developing a work packaging/purchasing strategy and performing those activities needed to select sub‑contractors, construct the facility and pre‑commission it for startup. Involved in every stage, from initiation through commissioning and startup of a project.
• Lead constructability input to engineering teams by optimizing construction knowledge and experience to reduce construction costs; improve quality, safety and productivity; shorten construction schedules; and reduce or eliminate construction efficiencies.
