To support Abu Dhabi Maritime in conducting licensing, permit, vessel, company, infrastructure, and OSHAD-related inspections in accordance with Maritime Regulations, applicable Codes of Practice (COP), and OSHAD-SF requirements, ensuring safe, compliant, and regulated marine operations across Abu Dhabi waters. The role supports licensing approvals, renewals, NOCs, compliance verification, and Occupational Health & Safety inspections under the operational direction of Abu Dhabi Maritime.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct vessel, company, infrastructure, and OSHAD compliance inspections for licensing, renewal, permit issuance, and regulatory verification as assigned by Abu Dhabi Maritime.
  • Verify compliance with applicable Maritime Regulations, Codes of Practice (COP), licensing conditions, and OSHAD-SF requirements, including:
  • Vessel safety equipment, hull condition, machinery, onboard arrangements
  • Company operational readiness, documentation, staffing, and procedures
  • Infrastructure compliance (marinas, jetties, slipways, dry berths, pontoons)
  • Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) implementation
  • Risk assessments, method statements, safety signage, emergency preparedness
  • PPE compliance, workforce competency, incident reporting procedures
  • Conduct OSHAD-SF related inspections and audits for maritime entities as per delegated authority and approved inspection framework.
  • Conduct Operational Permit, NOC, licensing, and OSHAD-related inspections based on approved applications and instructions.
  • Perform follow-up inspections and re-inspections to verify closure of observations, non-conformities, and safety deficiencies.
  • Identify non-compliance, deficiencies, or violations related to maritime and OHS requirements and elevate to the AD Maritime Inspection / Enforcement team in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Submit structured inspection reports with supporting evidence (photographs, documents, digital notes) within defined timelines using approved AD Maritime digital systems.
  • Collect and document inspection evidence accurately, ensuring traceability, audit readiness, and regulatory reporting compliance.
  • Support inspections during seasonal peaks, special compliance campaigns, enforcement drives, and OSHAD regulatory initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Licensing, Inspection, Enforcement, and HSSE teams to support regulatory compliance and operational planning.
  • Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and communication discipline in line with Abu Dhabi Maritime protocols.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSSE requirements during all inspection activities.
Strategic Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of Maritime Safety Regulations (MSR) and OSHAD-SF framework within the maritime sector.
  • Contribute field feedback for continuous improvement of inspection procedures, digital systems, and regulatory enforcement mechanisms.
Qualifications

Educational and Technical

Qualifications:

  • High School Certificate (Minimum Requirement) with relevant field experience in maritime operations, inspections, enforcement, safety, or regulatory compliance.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Operations, Nautical Studies, Marine Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Facilities Management, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Basic training in maritime safety, inspection techniques, or Occupational Health & Safety is required.
  • OSHAD / OHS certification or equivalent safety training is an advantage.
  • Valid UAE driving license (Mandatory).
Language Skills
  • English proficiency required (spoken and written).
  • Arabic is an advantage.
Years of Experience
  • Minimum 2–4 years preferred.
Nature of Experience
  • Experience in vessel inspections, maritime compliance, infrastructure inspections, regulatory compliance, or Occupational Health & Safety inspections preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHAD-SF framework and OHSMS audits is an advantage.
