Role PurposeCoordinate with the assigned team leader to execute engineering activities relating to the electrical systems or the electrical department goals, by collaboration with assigned team members, within the agreed scope of work.
Key Responsibilities- Support the preparation of electrical work packages, associated non‑recurring engineering cost, schedule planning and sub‑contracting for electrical systems.
- Report on the progress of development projects through the different phases of the electrical development.
- Create designs and technical solution in collaboration with team members.
- Review electrical designs for accuracy, manufacturability or completeness.
- Collaborate with sub‑contractors and report on electrical work progress.
- Implement prototypes and qualify designs by testing.
- Troubleshoot new or existing designs/products, determine root causes of failures, recommend design changes, establish processes and methods related to all aspects of the electrical systems on vehicle or sub‑systems level.
- Advise, guide and provide oversight to other departments.
- Stay abreast of emerging industry trends in the field of military vehicle electrical development and technology.
- Works within the limits of authority as defined by the Engineering Manager.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic) or appropriately equivalent professional or industry experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
- Experience working in multi‑discipline engineering teams
- Experience with design of vehicle electrical and electronic systems in defense or off‑highway
- Experience with prototyping, testing and fault finding
- Basic knowledge about configuration management, structured engineering processes and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of industrialization and manufacturing processes.
- Good decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
- Must be able to deal with work‑related deadlines, accountabilities and responsibilities
- Must be able to work under frequent job pressure generated by short and inflexible deadlines.
