Synopsis
The Technical Records Engineer – Power Plant is responsible for leading and managing the complete lifecycle of Engine and APU Technical Records for Etihad Airways. This includes ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GCAA CAR-M.305, CAR-145, IOSA requirements, and company procedures. The role oversees subcontracted services (Fly Docs), manages audits, discrepancies, and shop‑visit records, and ensures readiness for engine and APU lease returns and ownership transitions.
It directly contributes to maintaining fleet airworthiness by safeguarding the integrity of power plant technical documentation.
- Manage and control all Engine and APU Technical Records produced by engine shops, MROs, line stations, and vendors, ensuring correctness and compliance.
- Oversee Fly Docs performance, including quality audits, binder build/top‑up (AD, SB, Engine/APU LLP, modifications, repairs), and timely closure of queries and discrepancies.
- Ensure Engine/APU shop visit documentation is technically reviewed, complete, and correctly archived.
- Ensure records are systematically organized and available for internal Quality, Safety, and regulatory authority reviews and audits.
- Track, document, and resolve records queries within KPI thresholds; elevate unresolved or safety‑related items through the Technical Safety Report process.
- Support engine and APU lease return, sale, and ownership transition activities, ensuring records meet lessor and contractual requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of power plant technical records procedures, audit standards, and archiving practices in line with regulatory and industry best practices.
- Encourage colleagues and actively promote a positive reporting culture by reporting unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or safety risks.
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience with degree, or 7 years with diploma/license, in aviation maintenance or technical records functions (GCAA experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (preferred), or Aircraft Maintenance License/Diploma.
- Demonstrated experience with Engine/APU LLP build‑up, lease return documentation and subcontractor oversight.
- Strong technical records management and auditing expertise.
- Excellent reporting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and informative safety promotion materials.
- Proficiency in digital records systems (e.g., Fly Docs, AMOS).
