Execute the Waste Operations Management responsibilities by managing areas such as collection, transfer, recycling, hazardous materials screening, diversion, and disposal of waste and recyclables generated within the Emirate.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the field operations of solid waste facilities and programs in the areas of collection, transfer, recycling, hazardous materials screening, diversion, and disposal of waste and recyclables generated within the Emirate.
- Monitor the operational performance with special emphasis in the areas of expected tonnage, vehicle transitions, equipment maintenance and fuel usage, preparation of equipment specifications.
- Assist in the development of new policy statements and directives; evaluates impact of policy changes on operations activities.
- Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, and permit conditions as they relate to solid waste; reviews proposed regulations to determine potential impacts and proposed amendments.
- Execute and implement standardized waste management inspection systems.
- Manage the collection of required data and information from permitted service producers, waste infrastructure projects etc.
- Respond to environmental complaints related to waste management in the Emirate.
- Manage inspection, compliance and environmental control of waste management facilities and establishments in Abu Dhabi.
- Manage scheduled and unscheduled inspections to ensure compliance with waste management regulations.
- Follow up with relevant stakeholders on implementation of corrective actions identified in inspection reports.
- Ensure all collected data and analysis is shared with the Environmental Information Management division on a regular basis to ensure timely consolidation and reporting.
- Provide the Environment Policy and Regulations section within IEPP with relevant feedback to help draft and update required policies and regulations.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or any related specialization
Experience
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant field.
