Job Purpose
The Engineer, Projects Supply Operations is tasked with the design and development of all new Operations Division projects, ensuring they are cost‑effective and compliant with standards for product quality integrity, asset compliance, and functional requirements. The role encompasses managing the entire project lifecycle from conception through to commissioning, involving coordination with various operations teams, engineering, and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Engineer is responsible for preparing and controlling project budgets, aligning project execution with corporate strategies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
JobSpecific Accountabilities
- Planning, Budgeting & Compliance
- Ensure projects designed and executed in line with ADNOC and regulatory authorities’ guidelines.
- Prepare and control capital budgets for capital items and facilities to be replaced, considering their condition and depreciated value per maintenance recommendations.
- Prepare scope of requirements for new projects and review scope of work submitted by consultants and the Engineering and Projects Division.
- Review design, technical specifications, and costs submitted by contractors/consultants; manage the capital projects of the Division.
- Ensure supply chain‑specific requirement compliance such as product integrity preservation, HSE compliance, process safety assurance, and ease of operability.
- Advise supply operations managers on contractual matters (scope changes, additional work, contractor claims) during project implementation.
- Conduct preparation of specifications/scope of work for new projects and evaluate tender submissions and potential equipment enhancements.
- Ensure equipment design and control procedures meet ADNOC Distribution standards and requirements.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Hold weekly site meetings with external consultants, contractors and suppliers to review progress and technical issues.
- Ensure timely and comprehensive inspection of all new terminals, facilities and equipment for quality and integrity per contractual agreements.
- Submit statistics to management on performance targets versus actual performance of capital projects.
- Provide weekly progress reports and monthly status reports for engineering and project division management.
- Establish investment case studies for higher management on new projects forecast cost studies.
- Address and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle to ensure successful completion.
- Tender & Procurement
- Work closely with the Procurement and Contracts Division during the tender stage, support pre‑qualification, arrange pre‑bid site visit meetings and handle clarifications and technical evaluations.
- Collaborate with the procurement department for raising purchase and contract requisitions for machinery approved in the Capital Budget.
- Client Satisfaction & Handover
- Ensure internal client satisfaction with deliverables and advise management on compilation dates.
- Manage the handover process to the Operations department.
- Develop and implement commissioning procedures in coordination with the Operations team, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Science or Engineering degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical or any other relevant qualification
- 6‑8 years of experience in supply operations, maintenance and projects.
