ELV Site Engineer

The ELV Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems at project sites. The role ensures that all ELV works — including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Structured Cabling, Audio‑Visual, and BMS systems — are executed in accordance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Area Of Responsibility & Brief Description Of Activities Site Supervision & Execution- Supervise and coordinate ELV installation activities on site, ensuring adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor subcontractors and technicians to ensure proper execution of installation and wiring works.
- Plan daily activities, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Oversee installation of ELV systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Intercom, PA System, BMS, and Structured Cabling.
- Verify proper cable routing, device positioning, and system connectivity according to layout plans.
- Support integration between various ELV systems and ensure interoperability.
- Conduct system testing, configuration, and commissioning of installed equipment.
- Identify and rectify faults, ensuring systems meet functional and performance standards.
- Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspection and system acceptance.
- Maintain site progress reports, inspection checklists, and testing documentation.
- Prepare as‑built drawings and mark‑up changes for final documentation.
- Report site activities, delays, and technical issues to the Project Engineer or Manager.
- Ensure all ELV works comply with company quality procedures and international standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship and material compliance.
- Ensure all installations are performed in accordance with local regulations and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, and other service teams to resolve site‑related issues.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical input on ELV matters.
- Ensure proper communication flow between site teams, vendors, and the project office.
- Implement HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) practices and ensure safety compliance on site.
- Report unsafe practices, incidents, or potential hazards immediately.
- Stay updated on the latest ELV technologies, installation techniques, and best practices.
- Recommend design or process improvements for better efficiency and reliability.
To be successful as an ELV Site Engineer, candidates should demonstrate strong technical, coordination, and leadership skills to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems at project sites. The role involves supervising site teams and subcontractors, ensuring proper execution of CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, PA, BMS, Structured Cabling, and Audio‑Visual systems, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
The ELV Site Engineer also ensures accurate documentation, supports system integration, and coordinates with consultants, main contractors, and internal project teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Instrumentation Engineering
