The Key Objectives For This Role Are

Leading complex HVAC project design from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, managing budgets and timelines, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical guidance to junior staff, and promoting energy efficiency and innovation in HVAC systems to meet client needs and project goals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform HVAC engineering activities for projects
  • Coordinate with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the deliverables
  • Perform HVAC heat load calculation with HAP software
  • Prepare data sheets and material requisitions for DX units, chiller units, PACU, split A/C, ductworks, ventilation fans, etc.
  • Prepare HVAC schematic airflow and control diagrams, duct layout, equipment schedule, MTO, scope of work and adequacy reports
  • Sizing of HVAC equipment as required for the stage of project
  • Survey sites ahead of fitting heating, ventilation or air conditioning systems
  • Plan the placement of pipework, ducts and control panels
  • Review vendor documents
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans
  • Install HVAC components
  • Perform quality checks to ensure systems work efficiently and safely
  • Carry out maintenance on HVAC systems
  • Find and fix faults
  • Help customers reduce their energy use
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry in FEED and EPC phases
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE, international design codes & standards and industry‑accepted HVAC design practices
  • Familiar with ADNOC AGES, SMACNA, ISO, NFPA standards
  • Experience coordinating activities within a multidisciplinary environment and with vendors
  • Sound technical, construction and specification knowledge of HVAC/building services equipment and systems
  • Experience with client/industry standards in the oil and gas sector
