Supervise and coordinate all rigging, lifting, and material handling activities on-site, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality execution in compliance with project specifications and HSE standards. Oversee rigging teams, equipment, and resources while liaising with clients, contractors, and other departments to meet project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and supervise erection activities of steel structures, equipment, and piping spools using cranes; oversee lifting, transportation, and material handling.
- Obtain and comply with Permit to Work for all assigned activities.
- Read, interpret, and follow method statements, specifications, rigging plans, load charts, and related project documentation.
- Coordinate with Rigging Superintendent and other departments to ensure smooth workflow on site.
- Plan and organize construction activities to ensure productivity, quality, and safety.
- Prepare lifting plans and checklists; organize work groups and equipment to achieve targets.
- Inspect cranes, lifting accessories, and verify inspection certificates and color coding.
- Report daily, weekly, and monthly progress; identify ground preparation and support requirements in advance.
- Liaise with client, contractor, and quality inspectors to ensure smooth site operations.
- Conduct daily inspections of lifting equipment and accessories.
Competencies:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in industrial oil & gas erection activities using various types of cranes and lifting equipment.
- Familiar with international standards and specifications for lifting accessories, including capacities, safe working loads, and crane load charts.
- Experienced in interpreting lifting drawings, preparing lifting plans, and checklists.
- Strong skills in managing workforce and equipment efficiently.
- Knowledgeable in operating and managing cranes, hiabs, forklifts, telehandlers, tool carriers, etc.
- Proficient in preparing rigging plans and conducting lifting studies.
- Conversant with oil & gas HSE requirements, work practices, and quality standards.
- Able to ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures during lifting operations
