Medisal operates a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing facility specializing in solutions and injectable products, supporting national medicine security through reliable local manufacturing and engineering excellence.

To support ongoing operations and facility upkeep, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer responsible for complete on-site mechanical engineering and plant maintenance activities.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day mechanical engineering management
, local repair and maintenance of plant systems
, and continuous operational readiness of the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role includes responsibility for boilers, utilities, HVAC, mechanical equipment, and coordination of all local engineering activities to ensure uninterrupted GMP-compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities Plant Engineering & Maintenance
  • Manage local mechanical engineering activities for the pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
  • Perform on-site repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all mechanical systems.
  • Ensure continuous operation and upkeep of:
  • Boiler systems and steam generation equipment
  • Utilities including compressed air, water systems, pipelines, pumps, and valves
  • Production-support mechanical equipment
  • Take full responsibility for routine plant maintenance
    , breakdown maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • Implement and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Boiler & Utility Management
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers and steam systems in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate statutory inspections, safety checks, and certifications related to boiler operations.
  • Maintain logs, operating records, and maintenance documentation for boiler and utility systems.
GMP, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all mechanical and maintenance activities comply with GMP, EHS, and regulatory requirements
    .
  • Prepare and maintain SOPs, maintenance records, equipment logbooks, and calibration documentation.
  • Support audits, inspections, deviation investigations, and CAPA implementation related to engineering systems.
  • Ensure engineering changes follow approved change control procedures
    .
Local Repair & Contractor Coordination
  • Handle local repair work in-house wherever possible to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors, service providers, and AMC vendors when required.
  • Ensure all repair and maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP standards.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Support plant modifications, upgrades, and new equipment installation.
  • Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Propose improvements to enhance equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and operational performance.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Warehouse, and EHS teams.
  • Provide technical support during production activities and maintenance shutdowns.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown analysis, and plant performance summaries.
Qualifications & Experience Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
Experience
  • 3–6 years of experience in:
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing, food, chemical, or other regulated industrial plants
  • Hands-on experience in plant maintenance, boiler operations, and utilities management is mandatory
  • Experience in GMP-regulated environments is strongly preferred
Technical Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Boiler and steam systems
  • HVAC and cleanroom utilities
  • Mechanical maintenance and plant repair
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and equipment manuals
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems is an advantage
Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to manage local engineering activities independently
  • High level of responsibility, safety awareness, and attention to detail
  • Good communication and documentation skills
