Responsibilities- Team Leadership:
Lead a team of Composite Technicians, Senior Composite Technicians and Composite Technician Supervisors engaged in composite fabrication, testing, and repair, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback as needed. - Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan and execute composite manufacturing projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management. - Technical Oversight:
Provide technical expertise and guidance to technicians, assisting with complex tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications. - Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure that composite components meet required specifications and standards, conducting inspections, tests, and audits as necessary. - Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement within the composite manufacturing process, collaborating with stakeholders to implement improvements. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspection reports, test results, and project documentation, and prepare regular progress reports for management. - Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for technicians, conducting safety training and inspections as necessary. - Continuous Learning:
Stay current with developments in composite materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry best practices, and share knowledge with team members through training and professional development activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional vocational training or certification in composite materials technology required.
- Previous experience with more than 20 years of experience in composite material fabrication, testing, and repair, with a strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of technicians, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement improvements (8D, 5 why’s and Isikawa diagram) are desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations governing composite materials and manufacturing processes.
- Certification in SAP, LEAN, 3P, SQCDP and 5S are desirable.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of composite manufacturing operations.
- Strong, hands-on working knowledge of SAP / SAP S/4
