Senior Engineer - Roads & Highways

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our Roads & Highways team in Abu Dhabi. This role focuses on the technical design and delivery of roads and highways packages for large-scale infrastructure and land development projects across the Emirate.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on design experience, a solid understanding of Abu Dhabi authority requirements, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple disciplines to deliver fully integrated design solutions.

Roads & Highways Design

• Prepare and lead the detailed design of roads and highways infrastructure, including local roads, arterials, junctions, interchanges, and access roads.
• Develop design layouts, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and construction details in accordance with Abu Dhabi authority standards.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant local manuals, specifications, and international best practice.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

• Coordinate with internal and external disciplines including utilities, drainage, traffic, structures, street lighting, landscaping, and public realm teams.
• Identify and resolve design clashes and interface issues to ensure fully coordinated and buildable design outputs.
• Support design integration across infrastructure and land development packages.

Project Delivery & Technical Support

• Produce and review design calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
• Support project managers in achieving programme milestones, quality objectives, and deliverable schedules.
• Assist with authority submissions and respond to review comments in a timely and accurate manner.

Client & Authority Interface

• Participate in technical meetings, workshops, and design reviews with Clients and Abu Dhabi authorities.
• Support coordination and approvals processes in line with authority requirements.
• Provide technical input and advice during project discussions and decision-making.

Quality & Mentoring

• Ensure technical quality and compliance of all deliverables in line with internal QA/QC procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and graduates within the Roads & Highways team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 7+ years of professional experience in roads and highways design.
• Proven experience delivering Abu Dhabi-based infrastructure and land development projects.
• Strong understanding of Abu Dhabi authority standards, approval processes, and design requirements.
• Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines on complex infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g. Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MX, Open Roads, or similar).
• Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills.
