Job Purpose
The Energy Insights & Data Analysis Specialist is in charge of providing technical support for the measurement and verification program's energy data analytics. This includes the Demand Side Management (DSM) portfolio's energy and water conservation programs, as well as related initiatives. It may include up to 70 initiatives with complex solutions, technologies, and changes such as demand response, street lighting, and district cooling, among others.
The Energy Insights & Data Analysis Specialist's additional responsibilities include measuring KPIs and conducting analyses to establish baseline energy/water performance across commercial, institutional, government, industrial, and residential customers.
Working with external stakeholders and representatives, approved consultants, and Entity management is part of the job of the Energy Insights & Data Analysis Specialist.
As a specialist in a technical role, the Energy Insights & Data Analysis Specialist will be responsible for capacity development and knowledge transfer among peers.
The ideal candidate for the position of Energy Insights & Data Analysis Specialist should be well-versed in energy/water efficiency concepts, proactive, and detail oriented.
Job-specific Responsibilities- Support establishing a set of KPIs for both energy and water DSM programs across commercial, institutional, government, industrial, and residential customer sectors.
- Develop a robust Measurement and Verification (M&V) system to calculate the energy or water consumption savings achieved by each of the DSM initiatives in accordance with the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
- Use energy modeling applications or energy analysis spreadsheets in conjunction with data from a verification and measurement system to calculate the benefits of proposed energy/water efficiency projects.
- Identify savings, costs, and benefits in line with the demand-side management programs and policy requirements, including the development and implementation of verification and measurement plans.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy/water efficiency based on the verification and measurement system's results
- Verify that the work performed as part of demand side management (DSM) initiatives adheres to applicable standards and specifications.
- Provide highly credible verification and measurement reports and timely and structured updates to the demand side management (DSM) program.
- Identify and recommend the most effective methods for measuring program progress and benefits.
- Communicate with key internal directorates to gather information and data and to exert influence over capacity development and program needs.
- Maintain regular communications with management to provide updates on the verification and measurement system as well as program key performance indicators (KPIs).
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline e.g., public policy, environmental policy, engineering, environmental sciences.
Experience3 to 5 years in a relevant field
