Job PurposeLead and manage the design, integration activities—including assembly, wiring, testing and quality checks—and engineering of control system panels within the Panel Engineering Department, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer specifications and project requirements. Mentor the engineering team and drive continuous improvement in design processes and internal tools.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Design & Engineering- Validate control system panels, wiring diagrams, GA/IA and layout drawings against internal standards and project specifications.
- Support the drafting team for component selection to ensure standardization, reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
- Lead panel engineering activities across multiple projects.
- Monitor progress, report, and resolve design or manufacturing issues proactively.
- Supervise and coordinate integration contractors and panel assembly activities.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement, logistics, QA/QC and production teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Track PED material inventory and support procurement for technical evaluations and purchase orders.
- Guide subcontractors on assembly, ensuring quality, adherence to timelines and optimization of labor hours.
- Coordinate technical discussions, resolve deviations and collaborate with QC Engineers for inspections and testing.
- Organize internal meetings and walkthroughs for timely handovers of completed panels.
- Maintain production tools and equipment, ensuring availability and adherence to the project schedule and quality plans.
- Document scope deviations, track and report them appropriately.
- Prepare summary reports on completed projects (actual cost vs. sales budget).
- Propose techniques to optimize subcontractor hours and improve integration efficiency.
- Maintain lessons learned records and contribute to knowledge sharing within the PED team.
- Review and approve engineering drawings for manufacturing, BOMs for procurement, and test procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards during panel assembly and testing.
- Conduct internal testing and hand over panels for Pre‑FAT/FAT.
- Ensure all designs meet project requirements and comply with internal and customer standards.
- Implement risk assessments and mitigation strategies for the design.
- Supervise contractor technicians and provide technical guidance.
- Conduct training sessions on design tools, standards and best practices.
- Foster continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Primary technical contact for customers and internal project teams regarding panel design.
- Participate in design reviews and clarify technical queries.
- Support the proposal team for estimation activities for new project proposals.
- Monitor panel assembly progress and share weekly status reports with project managers.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes, approvals and test results.
- Report daily progress and key updates to the Department Manager.
- Manage and maintain PED assets and tools records required for panel assembly and integration.>
- Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Electronics or related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience for candidates with an engineering degree in panel assembly, integration, supervision, QA/QC coordination and procurement logistics.
