Engineer – Corrosion & Materials
Wood's Digital Consulting business is currently searching for Engineer
- Corrosion & Materials in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Will contribute to the delivery of corrosion and materials engineering consultancy services to internal Wood business units and external clients.
This role is primarily office-based but may require on-site support. Responsibilities include supporting corrosion management strategies, material selection, coatings, and related integrity assessments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of client assets.

- Produce corrosion and materials engineering deliverables such as reports, specifications, and data sheets.
- Support development and implementation of corrosion management strategies.
- Conduct material selection assessments and corrosion risk evaluations.
- Assist in coating design and specification for onshore and offshore facilities.
- Review vendor documents and participate in design reviews.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and client teams to ensure technical quality and compliance with standards.
- Contribute to proposals and technical input for corrosion-related scopes.
- Experience (>2 years) in corrosion and materials engineering within oil & gas or related industries.
- Demonstratable experience in:
Corrosion management strategy development and implementation;
Material selection for pipelines, pressure systems, and valves;
Coating design and specification for onshore and offshore facilities. - Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards: ISO 15257, NACE, API, ASME, DNVGL, BS 7910.
- Experience in corrosion modelling, risk assessment, and monitoring techniques.
- Experience with advanced corrosion modelling software and CP knowledge.
- Exposure to Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies and life extension studies.
- Familiarity with inspection technologies and data analysis techniques.
- Bachelor’s (minimum) or Master’s (preferred) in Mechanical or Materials engineering discipline.
- Working towards Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution.
