FSTD Engineering Technician
Ensure the reliable and safe operation of training devices designed for eVTOL and other advanced air mobility platforms at Etihad Aviation Training (EAT). Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational readiness of these devices, supporting additional activities within the Engineering and Maintenance department.
Accountabilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on AAM training devices and associated systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system integration issues to minimize downtime.
- Support simulator operations during training sessions and provide technical assistance to instructors.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and assist in simulator qualification and audits.
- Manage updates to flight software, visual databases, and system configurations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, defect reports, and system changes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and OEMs to support upgrades and modifications.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold safety and quality standards.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Engineering and Maintenance.
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Aerospace Maintenance or Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3‑4 years of experience in simulator maintenance or aircraft maintenance.
- Good understanding of flight simulation systems, avionics, and visual technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Software and programming background is preferred.
Based in Abu Dhabi and part of ADQ Aviation & Aerospace Services, Etihad Aviation Training (EAT) is an approved training organization located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. EAT offers an extensive portfolio of aviation training courses covering pilot, cabin crew, and airport operations, among others. The organization is accredited by GCAA (UAE), EASA (Europe), QCAA (Qatar), ICAO, ACI, and IATA.
Training at EAT is conducted using a state‑of‑the‑art center featuring 10 full‑flight simulators (Airbus and Boeing), 7 flight training devices, and 2 flight navigation procedural trainers.
