About The Role

The Assistant Resident Engineer will oversee specific infrastructure and enabling works construction packages for a new residential development.

Key responsibilities and duties (not exhaustive)

• Project and construction management and leadership in collaboration with other engineering disciplines covering a range of project requirements during design and supervision.
• Liaise with the contractor, the client and the client’s project manager.
• Review and implement drawings for feasibility and interface between project demands, including structure and related engineering.
• Ensure timely production and delivery of reliable project solutions.
• Ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with contract requirements.
• Check contractors’ submissions and respond to the contractor’s request for information.
• Observe site safety procedures; actively monitor and report on contractor safety performance, raising non‑conformance reports when required.
• Actively monitor implementation of contractor quality procedures and raise non‑conformance reports when required.
• Maintain and enhance Mott Mac Donald’s reputation with the client and develop long‑term client relationships.

Candidate Specification

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or Architecture) from an accredited university.
• Member of a Professional Engineering Registration; accreditation with a project management institute is a distinct advantage.
• Experience in large infrastructure projects.
• Experience must include all Health and Safety and Environmental Protection aspects of construction and operations.
