RINA is currently recruiting for a System Assurance Manager to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the Electronics and System Engineering Division.
MissionThe railway Senior RAMS Engineer is responsible for ensuring railway systems operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime. His role covers system performance evaluation, risk assessment, and compliance with international railway safety standards. In particular he has a strong experience and competence in RAMS and all aspects relevant to system performance assurance:
Electromagnetic Compatibility, Human Factor & Ergonomic, Fire Life Safety, Security, Cybersecurity, Hearing & Bonding, Electrical risks, Authorization & Homologation. He acts as leading expert and manage the System Assurance team of the railway projects where RINA has in scope the activity of System Assurance. His scope includes various stages of the railway system lifecycle, from design to operation and maintenance.
The candidate will cover the function of System Assurance Manager joining our team in Abu Dhabi.
Key Accountabilities- Support the implementation and coordination of RAMS processes across project phases.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards in developing RAMS deliverables.
- Ensure the management of system level discipline such as Electromagnetic Compatibility, Human Factor & Ergonomic, Fire Life Safety, Security, Cybersecurity, Hearing & Bonding, Electrical risks, Authorization & Homologation.
- Contribute to conducting risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards and safety risks.
- Utilize RAMS methodologies such as FMECA, event tree analysis, and fault tree analysis to assess risk impacts.
- Contribute to the development and review of key RAMS deliverables such as safety plans and hazard logs.
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout project phases.
- Work closely with project teams, suppliers, operators, and relevant authorities.
- Participate in safety-related meetings and coordinate safety efforts.
- Lead the communication and exchanges with the Independent Assessors and Agencies.
- Contribute to ensuring safety requirements are met during the testing and commissioning phases.
- Review and assess test plans to validate system reliability and safety.
- Provide updates on RAMS activities to project managers and stakeholders.
- Communicate safety-related issues and recommendations effectively.
- Manage the team of engineers to develop all the activities relevant to system assurance.
- Support the head of the discipline for workload efficient management.
- Propose and support the activities of hiring engineers for new resources or substitutions.
Master’s Degree in Electronic/TLC Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Qualifications- At least 15 years of experience in the role.
- Proven capabilities in managing complex projects in tough environment.
- Proven skill in managing multicultural teams with different competences and experiences.
- Understanding of functional safety principles in engineering projects, with a willingness to learn and develop expertise.
- Familiarity with railway industry regulations and safety standards.
- Awareness of safety authorization and homologation processes outlined by relevant authorities, such as ERA and ANSFISA.
- Basic knowledge of RAMS analysis software, with a willingness to gain proficiency.
- International standards: EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 61508.
- Knowledge of system level discipline such as Electromagnetic Compatibility, Human Factor & Ergonomic, Fire Life Safety, Security, Cybersecurity, Hearing & Bonding, Electrical risks.
