Position: Teacher - Science (Chemistry or Physics) - Mamoura British Academy (AY 2026/2027)

Overview

Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding Teacher - Science (Chemistry or Physics) for the Middle and Senior School at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing in the  academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a form tutor and support the pastoral needs of students
  • Teaching and Learning — Clear understanding of the British curriculum
  • Organise classroom provision, learning resources and displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the classes taught in line with the Learning and Teaching Policy
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching
  • Observe and assess children in line with the Assessment Policy
  • Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, and progress to adjust environment, planning and curriculum
  • Ensure the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes are embedded throughout the curriculum
  • Assessment and Data — Take responsibility for the progress of classes taught
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of students’ development using the schools designated assessment system
  • Use data from assessments to influence planning, provision and intervention
  • Be accountable to the Head of Department for performance data and develop strategies to improve
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers on a student’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings
  • Behaviour Management and Duties — Follow Behaviour Policy
  • Manage classes effectively to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Maintain excellent relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within the school’s Behaviour Policy
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils
  • Have high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence
  • Ensure the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are embedded throughout the curriculum
  • Carry out duties as directed within the school’s policies
  • Wider Professional Responsibilities — Work as part of a department team, supporting planning, assessment, resources and events
  • Support the organisation and participation in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding students’ achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • Run a weekly ECA each term
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ teaching experience in English National Curriculum
