Physics Teacher
Job Purpose
The Physics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Physics in line with the UK National Curriculum. The role aims to ensure excellent student outcomes through engaging instruction, rigorous assessment, and strong subject knowledge.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality A Level Physics lessons aligned with the British Curriculum.
Teach according to UK examination board specifications (AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
Employ a range of teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs and high academic standards.
Promote analytical thinking, problem-solving, and practical scientific skills.
Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments and external A Level examinations.
Assessment & Progress
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using British Curriculum assessment frameworks.
Use assessment data to inform planning, differentiation, and targeted interventions.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support academic progress.
Curriculum & Professional Responsibilities
Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum review, and resource development.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of British Curriculum developments and assessment changes.
Participate actively in departmental meetings, and whole-school events.
Support enrichment opportunities such as STEM activities, competitions, and educational visits.
Pastoral & Safeguarding Responsibilities
Act as a form tutor when required and contribute to students’ pastoral wellbeing.
Uphold high standards of behaviour, attendance, and professionalism.
Ensure safeguarding and child protection responsibilities are met in line with school policies.
