Accident & Emergency Medicine Specialist

The Emergency Medicine Specialist provides immediate evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries. This role requires rapid clinical decision-making, effective prioritization, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered emergency care.

• Assess, stabilize, and manage patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform rapid triage and initiate life-saving interventions
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and ECGs
• Perform emergency procedures such as airway management, intubation, suturing, fracture reduction, and resuscitation
• Manage cardiac, respiratory, neurologic, and toxicologic emergencies
• Coordinate care with specialists, inpatient teams, and ancillary services
• Provide clear communication to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
• Supervise and support junior physicians, residents, nurses, and allied health staff
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management activities

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Emergency Medicine
• Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
• Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure)
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certification (as applicable)
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to make rapid decisions under pressure
• Expertise in emergency procedures and resuscitation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage high patient volumes and diverse case presentations
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
• Hospital-based Emergency Department or urgent care setting
• Shift-based schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Fast-paced, unpredictable, high-acuity clinical environment

• Ability to stand and move for prolonged periods
• Capacity to manage stressful, time-critical, and emotionally challenging situations
