Summary

Provides expert pediatric orthopedic care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital, developmental, traumatic, and acquired musculoskeletal conditions. The role covers elective, urgent, and emergency orthopedic cases, with a strong focus on safe, age‑appropriate surgical and non‑surgical management.

Education/

Qualification:
  • Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  • Post‑qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from:
      North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
      • USA:
        American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
      • Canada:
        Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
      • Australia and New Zealand:
        Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
  • Experience:
      • Minimum of two (2) years of experience post‑board/equivalent certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland (CCST), United Kingdom (CCT) Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden OR Switzerland,
      • Sub‑Specialties
        :
        Minimum of two (2) years of experience post‑sub‑specialty certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, or the UK.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience after obtaining the main specialty qualification in United Kingdom (CESR) Portugal, Spain, or Italy
    • Sub‑Specialties
      :
      Minimum of four (4) years of experience after obtaining the sub‑specialty qualification in Portugal, Spain, or Italy.
    License:
    • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
    • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate
    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide expert pediatric orthopedic care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital, developmental, traumatic, and acquired musculoskeletal conditions.
    • Diagnose, treat, and manage complex elective, urgent, and emergency orthopedic cases.
    • Perform pediatric orthopedic surgical procedures, including deformity correction, trauma surgery, and reconstructive procedures, following approved clinical standards.
    • Lead preoperative assessment, surgical planning, perioperative management, and postoperative care, including follow‑up and rehabilitation planning.
    • Conduct regular ward rounds and outpatient clinics, reviewing and reassessing patients as required.
    • Supervise, mentor, and support junior physicians, residents, and fellows in clinical and surgical practice.
    • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, pediatricians, intensivists, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings for complex orthopedic cases and coordinated care planning.
    • Accept appropriate referrals from emergency services, inpatient teams, outpatient clinics, and external healthcare facilities.
    • Participate in on‑call duties, including emergency pediatric orthopedic consultations and surgical interventions.
    • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical risks, and postoperative care plans.
    • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, education, and research activities within the department.
