We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Architect to join our team at a premier engineering consultancy firm. This role is critical to the successful delivery of large-scale, complex building projects—particularly in the healthcare sectors
. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of architectural design, construction detailing, and site-based coordination, with a proven track record of overseeing healthcare facility execution on-site.
As a Senior Site Architect, you will be responsible for supervising architectural works on-site, reviewing contractor submittals, ensuring compliance with design intent, and coordinating closely with all stakeholders. You will play a key role in resolving construction-phase architectural issues and ensuring the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetic integrity are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the on-site implementation of architectural designs for complex healthcare and institutional projects, ensuring alignment with approved drawings and specifications.
- Review architectural shop drawings, materials, mockups, and method statements submitted by contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and international standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide technical guidance to ensure quality execution, code compliance, and adherence to design intent.
- Coordinate closely with structural, MEP, and other discipline leads to resolve design conflicts and ensure cohesive integration of all building systems.
- Manage and track architectural RFIs, NCRs, and site queries, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with design teams.
- Evaluate contractor proposals for architectural changes and support value engineering efforts without compromising functionality or performance—particularly critical in healthcare environments.
- Prepare and present architectural reports, punch lists, progress updates, and quality assessments for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor construction progress and provide inputs to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Liaise with client representatives, hospital operators, and authorities for inspections, approvals, and coordination of user-specific requirements.
- Champion best practices in healthcare facility design, infection control during construction (ICRA), and patient-centric architectural planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university; a Master’s degree or specialized training in healthcare design is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 12 years of architectural experience
, including at least 5 years in a Senior Site Architect role on large-scale building projects. - Extensive experience in the design and construction of healthcare facilities
, including hospitals, medical centers, or similar complex institutional buildings. - Strong knowledge of local and international building codes, healthcare planning standards, and authority regulations.
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary coordination, FIDIC contracts, and site-based project delivery practices.
- Proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and managing documentation workflows.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to interface effectively with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Registration with a recognized architectural authority or professional body (e.g., RIBA, AIA, or local equivalent) is preferred.
- Prior experience working in the GCC or similar regions is a must.
