- Manage and supervise the asphalt crew on various construction sites.
- Coordinate with the project manager to ensure that all work is completed according to project specifications and timelines.
- Plan and schedule daily tasks for the asphalt crew, including equipment and materials needed.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
- Train and mentor new crew members on proper asphalt laying techniques.
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the laying process and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, equipment maintenance, and crew hours.
- Communicate with clients and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of asphalt materials, equipment, and techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
