Civil Site Manager

Job Description

CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Civils Site Manager for a client in the UAE. This position is an individual contributor role that provides strategic leadership for Civil Matters on site.

Key duties will include:

• Responsible for overall Civil construction and site activities.
• Ensure that the Civil Contractor constructs the Civil and building works in line with the design and applicable specifications.
• Responsible for building installation including LSP, HVAC, Fire-fighting, cranes and plumbing works.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly site progress reports.
• Arrange monthly payment certificates from client for Civil and building services.
• Responsible for arranging the required method statements, material & approved drawings well in advance to avoid delays during constructions.
• Conducting regular site meetings with subcontractor(s) for availability of required material and resources & keep record of meetings.
• Conducting regular site meeting with O/E
• Responsible for keeping design and construction coordinator informed about program and actual construction status on site.
• Finalise Civil & Building services QA System with subcontractors and O/E.
• Responsible for implementing QA System.
• Maintain the Construction drawing register and ensure use of current drawings only
• Arrange Red-Marked drawings signed by O/E and issue to design coordinator.
• Interacting with O/E on site for necessary construction method approvals.
• Responding to all O/E site notes and instruction unless they are related to commercial issues, for which advice to be taken from the Civil Manager.
• Notifying the Project Manager and Civil Construction Manager of potential deviations from the specifications / contract. (Support in Claim Management)
• Identify potential variations and claims under the Main Contract and Subcontracts
• Verification of Civil and building Subcontractor Bill of Quantities and valuations in line with purchase order in coordination with QS Engineer.
• Record, register and maintain all field changes for easy reference. (Support in Claim Management)
• Maintain the records of actual progress with respect to agreed programs with O/E and with Subcontractors and initiate actions to mitigate delays.
• Review, agree and certify interim Subcontract payment applications.
• Maintain records and reasons for delays during construction stage.
• Maintain and agree resources engaged on “Dayworks” after authorisation from the Project Manager and / or the Civil Construction Manager.
• Maintain Daily Works Register recording all site events to support claim management at later stage of the project.,
• Identify Civil & MEP lessons learnt and notify PM & QA department for awareness session
• Abide by and comply with the Company code of ethics, business conduct and HSE requirements

• Minimum 10–15 years of overall civil construction experience, including large industrial EPC projects.
• At least 5+ years in a site-based leadership role such as:
  Civil Construction Manager, Construction Superintendent, Civil Site Manager.
• Proven delivery experience in civil + building services / MEP integration, including: HVAC, Fire-fighting systems, Plumbing / drainage, LSP, Cranes and building services interface works
• Prior exposure to Power generation projects, substations, O&G facilities, utilities, or major infrastructure is highly desirable.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional certification such as PMP / PRINCE2 is an advantage.
• Training/certifications in QA/QC and HSE (NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent) are strongly preferred.
