Position Overview
The Senior Officer – ESG supports the planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives across Silal Group and its subsidiaries. The role focuses on operational execution, ESG data coordination, stakeholder follow-up, and documentation, ensuring timely implementation of ESG initiatives, accurate data collection, and compliance with approved ESG strategies, governance frameworks, and reporting requirements. Working under the direction of the Director – ESG, the role contributes to effective ESG performance tracking, reporting, and assurance readiness across the Group.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Officer - ESG will include the following:
- Support the implementation of the Silal Group ESG strategy, policies, and action plans across Group divisions and subsidiaries.
- Coordinate ESG-related activities with subsidiary ESG Champions and designated focal points to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Support integration of ESG principles into business processes, policies, and operational practices across Silal Group entities.
- Track ESG initiatives, milestones, and deliverables, and escalate risks, delays, or gaps to the Director – ESG.
- Collect, validate, and consolidate ESG data (environmental, social, and governance) from business units and subsidiaries using approved templates and timelines.
- Monitor and track ESG KPIs, targets, and action plans across the Group.
- Support environmental performance tracking, including energy, fuel, water, waste, emissions, and other sustainability metrics.
- Maintain accurate ESG data, evidence repositories, documentation, and audit trails to support internal controls, reporting, and external assurance.
- Follow up with stakeholders on incomplete, inconsistent, or delayed ESG data submissions.
- Support coordination and monitoring of social responsibility, community engagement, and workforce-related ESG initiatives.
- Assist with implementation, tracking, and reporting of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and related metrics.
- Support governance-related ESG activities, including ESG-related policy tracking, approvals, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with ESG-related regulations, standards, and disclosure frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, ADQ requirements).
- Contribute to the preparation of ESG reports, dashboards, presentations, and internal updates for management, Executive Committee, and Board-level reporting.
- Support ESG awareness, communication, and engagement initiatives across Silal Group.
- Assist in coordinating ESG training sessions, workshops, and ESG Champion engagement activities.
- Support engagement and coordination with external consultants, auditors, and service providers as required.
In order to be successful in this role, you should have
- Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, business, governance, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 – 6 years in ESG, sustainability, governance, compliance, or data coordination roles
