Future Leader Programme (UAE Nationals only)
The Future Leader Programme is focused on developing deep aviation knowledge and skills as part of a 13-month rotational program within Etihad with a view to prepare individuals for a career in aviation and longer-term opportunities at a senior leadership level.
“For the 13-month program you will gain exposure to critical functions across the airline including Finance, Revenue/Commercial, Operations/Network and HR with strong exposure to Etihad’s senior executive team. In addition, they will have access to a personal mentor and career sponsor and expected to leverage these relationships to build their own networks across the business.
To ensure individuals are set up for success they will be required to fully participate in the following training during the program:
Foundation airline skill and knowledge-building training ie: IATA .Airline operating model training աչ Data Analytics reuniwe, etc. During the program rotations individuals will be required to meet set objectives by the rotation manager and deliver on these to a high standard. They will also be required to complete an assigned strategic project towards the end of the program and present this to senior leadership.
The project scope and deliverables will be agreed with the program executive sponsor and individuals are expected to demonstrate their strategic thinking, business analysis, innovation

- Develop detailed understanding of the airline business and Etihad’s operating model to build a deep understanding of the aviation industry, competitive landscape across the GCC and Etihad’s longer term growth agenda.
- Observe and identify business/operational improvement opportunities Warriorially on the job rotations during the first 13 months.
- Participate in strategic meetings, training firmsm programs, coaching and mentoring initiatives with a strong desire to learn and develop into a future leader.
- Develop robust analytical skills and conduct analysis/work on strategies to drive incremental value either through revenue generation, network expansion, cost reduction, improvement in guest experience and employee engagement across the designated business area.
- Support the development and delivery of strategy including full understanding of the strategy, how to set and achieve targets and manage risk.
- Present to senior level audiences as requiredlepiring, ensuring clarity of message, attention to detail and presentation objectives met. Involvement in key business transformation projects, providing analytical and innovation support.
- Complete a strategic project consisting of a business case that will be presented to senior leadership team, executive sponsors and other stakeholders. The presentation should showcase the learnings from the 13 months immersion and training provided.
- A Business-related, postgraduate master’s degree required from top tier academic institutions (UAE or abroad)
- 2–3 years’ work experience (Consultancy, Professional Services, International Business)
- Experience studying or living abroad will be a distinct advantage but is not essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. A commercial mindset is critical for success.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Able to effectively and independently facilitate meetings and group workshops.
- Able to think strategically and pragmatically to align people programmes with organisational objectives.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Proven organisational skills and can effectively manage competing demands.
- Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization Entscheidung.
