Senior Accountant Assets

The Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets is responsible for managing financial activities related to fixed assets and capital projects. The role ensures accurate recording, timely capitalization, and compliance with IFRS and Abu Dhabi Airports’ accounting policies. This position supports month-end and year-end closing processes, maintains strong audit trails, and upholds robust financial controls to ensure accurate reporting and effective fixed asset management.

• Support the management of fixed assets and project management modules by overseeing asset recording, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring correct accounting treatment in coordination with line and project managers.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely capitalization of assets and projects through established processes.
• Review and analyze monthly journal entries and ledger accounts to ensure accurate posting from sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts with the PPE module to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Ensure fixed asset accounting complies with IFRS standards and Abu Dhabi Airports’ accounting policies.
• Oversee the full fixed asset lifecycle, including additions, transfers, depreciation, impairment, and disposals.
• Maintain and support a comprehensive database of financial records, including journals, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
• Review financial statement impacts of accounting entries and investigate and report variances.
• Process adjusting journal entries as required to maintain general ledger integrity.
• Establish and maintain an organized filing system for general ledger and capital project documentation.
• Perform ad-hoc duties and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is preferred.

• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience with a focus on fixed assets management.
• Experience in capital projects and construction accounting is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to manage deadlines and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage ad-hoc tasks and changing priorities.
