Program / Project Manager, Talent Manager
Purpose of the Position
The Development Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day implementation of fundraising and development strategies, ensuring that objectives are met efficiently and effectively. The Director will provide strategic and hands‑on leadership across fundraising functions, including individual giving, major gifts, and corporate partnerships. This role will work closely with the President and CEO, senior leadership, and key community stakeholders to grow philanthropic support aligned with EO Companies’ mission and long‑term vision.
EssentialFunctions
- Lead the development and execution of EO Companies’ fundraising strategy, aligned with organizational priorities and growth goals
- Manage and grow a diverse revenue portfolio, including individual donors, foundations, corporations, and public‑private partners
- Build, steward, and strengthen relationships with major donors and community leaders
- Partner with the President and CEO and senior staff to support and advance fundraising efforts
- Oversee donor pipeline management, cultivation strategies, and stewardship practices
- Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of fundraising performance
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to align development efforts with programmatic and strategic initiatives
- Represent EO Companies externally with professionalism, credibility, and enthusiasm for the mission
- Ability to develop, implement, and manage budgets and project plans
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships across departments.
- High standard of professional and ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability.
- Financial analysis skills and ability to manage fundraising data.
- Computer proficiency and experience:
Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe, Google Drive and Publisher. - Ability to facilitate meetings and groups.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
This position is based in the Abingdon, Virginia office.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Positiontype and expected hours of work
Employee should be able to work core hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional meetings, events, and possible emergencies outside of core hours.
Travel requiredThe ideal candidate will be available to attend early morning, evening, and/or weekend meetings in person and should be able to travel independently where needed.
Certificates, licenses, registrations required- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance
- Reliable high‑speed home internet.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four‑year college or university required.
- At least 5 years of fundraising and development experience, with progressively responsible leadership positions.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding measurable fundraising goals in a medium to large nonprofit environment.
- Strong background in managing all aspects of fundraising, including high net worth individuals, foundations, and corporate relations.
- Proficiency in fundraising applications for comprehensive donor data analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of data utilization and management for strategic operations and decision‑making.
