Patient Access Specialist – Ensemble Health Partners

Join us as a Patient Access Specialist at Ensemble Health Partners, a leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions. This on‑site role is located at Ballad‑Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA.

• Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide patient instructions, and collect insurance information.
• Receive and process physician orders and employ an overlay tool while delivering excellent customer service measured by Press Ganey.
• Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter‑office calls.
• Adhere to policies and provide compassionate customer service in all interactions.
• Meet point‑of‑service goals and use quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts.
• Perform audits of accounts, ensure accurate completion of forms, and provide statistical data to leadership.
• Pre‑register patient accounts prior to visits, collecting demographic, insurance, and financial information, including past‑due balances and payment plans.
• Explain consent forms, distribute patient education documents, and obtain necessary signatures.
• Review eligibility responses in the insurance verification system, enter benefit data, and support clean claim rates.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software, inform Medicare patients of potential non‑payment, and distribute ABNs and other designated forms.

• 1+ years of customer service experience.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (company paid).
