Hematology/Oncology Physician
Join our dedicated team as a Hematology/Oncology Physician and play a vital role in delivering exceptional outpatient cancer care in a reputable hospital setting. This position offers a dynamic and rewarding environment, providing comprehensive support to patients aged 18 and above, with opportunities to collaborate with a talented multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, nurses, and ancillary specialists. Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Hematology, Oncology, or pending certification exam
- Valid Virginia State Medical License
- DEA certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in Hematology/Oncology
- Proficiency with EPIC Beacon EMR System
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle a patient volume of approximately 12-15 patients per day in an outpatient setting
- Flexibility to work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with additional Friday clinics every third week
- Availability for scheduled call duties, including night and 24-hour weekend call duties
Skills:
- Experience working in a hospital outpatient department
- Familiarity with radiation oncology infusion treatments
- Additional certifications or training in palliative care, pain management, or related areas
- Bilingual abilities or multilingual proficiency
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology or Oncology
- At least 1 year of post-residency clinical experience in relevant specialty
- Virginia medical license and DEA registration (process can vary; expedite preferred)
- BLS certification mandatory; ACLS preferred
- Flu vaccination required
- Willingness to participate in credentialing process, approximately 60-90 days
- Ability to travel as all authorized travel expenses are billable (airfare, hotel, rental car, mileage, etc.)
- No licensure through IMLC accepted
- No licensing required beyond Virginia
