We have an opportunity to join our Team at the Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit (EMU) in Abingdon on a full time 12 month fixed term contract. The service is for adults aged 18 years and over who have an emergency medical health need requiring same day intervention.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, is reliable, punctual and works well in a team. Creative thinking is a benefit in this changing environment. You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently within a busy and intensive environment dealing with unpredictable situations whilst working collaboratively to remain focused on providing a person‑centred approach to care and treatment.

EMU works closely with Witney EMU, RACU, Urgent Community Response (UCR) and Hospital at Home to provide care for patients in the community, closer to home, with an aim to prevent any unnecessary hospital admissions.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered Practitioner, you’ll be responsible for assessing the patient using your clinical judgement using tools such as ECG, point of care testing and other monitoring. You will deliver treatments such as IV medication and catheterisation.

You will work as part of a Multidisciplinary team to provide a swift assessment tailored to the patient need.
