About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Control and Instrumentation (C&I) Technician to join a leading energy facility. This hands-on role focuses on the repair, maintenance, and calibration of all C&I equipment on site, ensuring safe and efficient plant operation. The role involves working alongside other disciplines and coordinating contractors as required.
This position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and experience in process or power plant environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance of C&I equipment.
Perform fault diagnostics and rectify issues efficiently.
Maintain calibration records and implement instrument calibrations.
Supervise and coordinate contractors where necessary.
Conduct plant inspections and area safety checks.
Record and monitor work in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Support and cover duties of the C&I Engineer when required.
Respond to plant and equipment breakdowns during and outside normal hours.
Maintain a safe, tidy, and compliant working environment.
Skills, Knowledge &
Experience:
Experience in C&I engineering within process industries or power plants.
Proficiency with CMMS systems and DCS/SCADA.
Ability to work independently and safely, including lone working.
Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills.
Relevant technical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent, including recognised apprenticeship).
Knowledge of CEMS systems.
Full UK driving licence.
ONC/HNC or COMPEX 1-4 certifications.
Working Hours- 4-week rolling rota:
Weeks 1–3:
Mon–Fri, 7:00 – 15:30
Week 4:
Mon–Fri, 12:00 – 20:30 (on-call)
