Job Summary
The Data Center Cable Technician is responsible for installing and troubleshooting structured cabling (fiber), focusing on rack/stack, cable management and labeling. All while ensuring timelines are met and adhering to strict safety/security protocols to support critical data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to understand basic wiring diagrams and installation instructions.
- Run, terminate, label, and manage fiber optic cables; troubleshoot low-voltage connectivity issues.
- Possess working knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards & the National Electric Code.
- Attend project planning & progress meetings. Report any project scope changes, issues, or concerns to the assigned contacts.
- Use proper care on all company assets to avoid breakage, misuse, theft, etc.
- Ability to complete the tasks assigned in a timely manner.
- Adhere to data center security protocols, safety procedures, and industry best practices (e.g., cable management standards).
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications
- Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in the installation of cabling associated with:
Telecom Systems, TCP/IP Networks, CCTV Security, Access control & Wireless Solutions. - Must have the ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables. Strong understanding of low voltage infrastructure and related services.
- Valid Drivers License
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The individual is frequently required to stand and walk. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The individual may also be required to work from heights and in tight, confined spaces.

- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point
- Comprehensive understanding of contract scope and requirements for pro-active management of projects and integration into processes
Working Conditions
- Use of small hand tools.
- Use of power tools.
- Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
- Carrying of loads up & down stairs.
- Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals & solvents; mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazards.
- General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. But ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is required.
- Must be able to work in the United States.
