Here is what it is like to be a Fleet Mechanic with PBNA. Day to day you will:
- Work with a high degree of independence while performing preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs
- Utilize modern technology and programs including PM using voice applications, Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, TAAS, and more
- Grow skills on Pepsi's diverse fleet including automobiles, light and heavy trucks, vans, and forklifts
- Perform advanced diagnostics across OE platforms (Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, electrical vehicles, material handling equipment, and more)
- Perform high‑level repairs such as engine and driveline, aftertreatment and emissions, and safety systems
- Adapt and build repair capability for alternative fuel applications (electric vehicles, CNG, B100)
- Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as needed
- Maintain documentation and records such as vehicle records and pre-trip checklists
- Answer service calls
- Support Pepsi's safety culture by adhering to all safety standards and procedures
- Be part of the team that maintains one of the largest fleets in North America
- Own basic hand tools. Diagnostic, ergonomic, and high-tech equipment will be provided
- Physical movements including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and handling objects (with or without accommodation)
- At least 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation)
- Brakes Certification
- Experience or training involving hydraulic and air brake systems
- Experience performing aftertreatment and emissions repairs (e.g., class 6-8 diesel)
- Experience performing driveline repairs (e.g., class 6-8 diesel)
- Experience using diagnostic platforms (e.g., Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, Altel, etc.)
- Experience removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specs
- Experience utilizing diagnostic troubleshooting codes
- Experience with parts management and inventory controls
- Experience working under limited supervision
- Experience using shop tools (engine hoists, welding, changing tires, small tools)
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and activities (oil changes, documentation, tracking miles/usage hours, identifying defects)
- Experience working with computers (iPad, desktops, handhelds, laptops) for diagnostics
- Experience repairing forklifts and related systems
- Experience with OEM manuals and current standards; electronics
- Experience repairing heavy duty equipment (class 6-8 trucks, brakes, tires, engines, liftgates, thermo king systems)
- Experience or training with gas and/or diesel automotive repair
- Experience performing engine repairs (class 6-8 diesel)
- Experience performing safety systems repairs
- ASE Electrical Certification
- ASE Heavy Duty Certification
- ASE Suspension Certification
- ASE, Macs or Military AC certification
- Experience driving trucks requiring Class A or B CDL
- Experience repairing light trucks, EV trucks, vans, and support vehicles
- Experience with shift work (on-call, 24/7 availability, 2nd/3rd shift)
- Hotwork/Welding Certification and welding experience
