Position Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management or 3rd key experience. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for the day‑to‑day operations of the store and promoting a positive product‑driven environment. This position partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations.
The role requires a customer‑centric focus, asset protection, and the ability to analyze store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met.
- Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
- Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company‑prescribed channels and oversee onboarding.
- Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers, merchandise, and ensuring all procedures are followed to protect assets.
- Administer processes and procedures within the store such as inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and reporting.
- Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
- Communicate clearly with employees to ensure they understand the store's mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
- Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Minimum age 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule—including weekends and holidays—and 40+ hours per week.
- Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
- Cash handling experience is required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Competitive hourly rate of $14.50 to $17.50 plus commission (up to 8% on transactions).
