Post Op:
Reviews Post-operative instructions with patient. Actively involves the patient or designated support person in decisions affecting his or her post-operative plan of care. Care for patients who are recovering from anesthesia after surgery. Monitor post-operation vital signs, assess levels of consciousness, and carefully observe patients for any side effects from anesthesia.
Pre Op:
Responsible for the admission and pre-operative care of the surgical patient. Records baseline hemodynamic status: gathers pre-operative vital signs;
Blood Pressure, EKG monitoring, oximetry readings and documentation of such on pre-operative record. Identifies arrhythmias and notifies medical team members of findings.
Same Day Surgery:
Assess the patient and resources and plan for the scheduled surgery. Assist surgeons and other health care professionals with outpatient surgery procedures. Duties include setting up IVs, monitoring patients before and after surgery, and providing advice on home care
