Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care for patients under the supervision of a physician or mid‑level provider.
  • Assist physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
  • Act as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum Education
    • Completion of a Vocational Nursing Program or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum Work Experience
    • One year of licensed vocational nurse experience.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications
    • Current state vocational nurse license.
    • Current CPR certificate.
  • Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
    • Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and documentation standards.
    • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and basic laboratory procedures.
    • Knowledge of infectious disease management, safety standards, and infection control policies.
    • Knowledge of medical chart reporting and documentation.
    • Understanding of management and organizational theory for staff supervision and development.
    • Knowledge of medications and pharmacological agents used in a clinic setting.
    • Knowledge of diseases and disease processes.
    • Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques.
    • Skill in universal precautions, safe workplace, and confidentiality methods.
    • Skill in health information management and charting.
    • Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
    • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
    • Ability to interact appropriately with patients, families, staff, and others.
    • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
    • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and direct others’ work.
    • Ability to communicate clearly.
