About the RoleCrusoe is seeking a dedicated Operations & Maintenance Technician (OMT) to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of our power facility. This role is essential for maintaining plant reliability, safety, and environmental compliance, whether assigned to a shift or the maintenance team. You will be responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment critical to our mission.
The ideal candidate is a skilled technician capable of managing complex systems such as gas and steam turbines, generators, and water treatment equipment while strictly adhering to safety and environmental regulations. This is a full‑time position that requires an individual contributor who is authorized to work in the USA. (#INDMFG)
What You’ll Be Working OnPlant Operations & Maintenance: Operate and maintain a Combined Cycle power generating facility and its auxiliary equipment, including heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), air compressors, and fire suppression systems with minimal guidance.
Technical Troubleshooting & Repair: Identify and resolve CEMS problems, perform Root Cause Analysis of failures, and repair defective plant equipment such as pumps, valves, and gearboxes.
System Inspections & Data Recording: Conduct “Inspection of Watch” on all plant systems and read meters or automatic devices to record temperatures, vibrations, fluid levels, and water chemistry to verify operating conditions.
Water Chemistry Management: Perform analysis on HRSG, auxiliary boiler, and cooling tower systems; control chemical feed and blowdown rates to maintain proper control ranges.
Electrical & Mechanical Tasks: Open and close circuit breakers for system operation or electrical isolation, and perform piping and conduit installation for plant upgrades.
Documentation & Systems: Utilize the facility’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and assist with the development of Operations and Maintenance procedures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with vendors for chemical ordering and equipment repair, work with Plant Management on capital projects, and assist in administering the Operator training program.
Facility Upkeep: Perform general housekeeping, painting, and continuous improvement tasks to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the plant and control room.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Power Plant Expertise: Demonstrable knowledge of all facets of power plant operations and the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one‑lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&IDs.
Maintenance
Skills:
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment, as well as operating welding and cutting equipment.Communication & Software: Good verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Flexibility: Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts and availability for call‑ins or work overload as needed.
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety‑sensitive position and/or is located in a safety‑sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.
- Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
