We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Child Life Specialist to become an integral member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you'll directly impact the lives of pediatric patients and their families during challenging times, helping transform the hospital experience through therapeutic play and thoughtful preparation.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Child Life Specialist, you'll work collaboratively to address the developmental, psychosocial, and intellectual needs of our youngest patients and their families. Your expertise will shine as you implement therapeutic medical preparation programs designed to reduce anxiety and bring a sense of normalcy to the hospital environment. You
217;ll supervise, organize, and direct age-appropriate therapeutic play experiences that help children cope, understand, and heal.
Beyond direct patient care, you'll play a leadership role in shaping the next generation of child life professionals by orienting, training, and supervising students and volunteers assigned to your unit.
What You'll NeedEducation & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience in Child Life, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related fields.
Certifications:
- Child Life Professional Certification (required before hire).
- CPR-BCLS certification.
Essential Qualities:
- Strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Passion for supporting children and families through healthcare experiences.
- Shift: Days.
